Just letting you know  this little delay is because we’re in the middle of finals season, which means lots of essay writing for Waffles and some huge end of year library projects for me. We love the last two episodes of season five, and we want to do right by them, so we need a little more time to refine and edit.

Hey guys! Thanks for your patience with us this week — it’s been a stressful one, and we’re glad things are finally returning to normal. I’m headed to work right now, but you can expect a new limerick later today.

Sorry posts have been a bit erratic lately, but I’m afraid they might continue to be for a bit. There’s just a lot to deal with at home — both in our family and as a community — and our poetry brains aren’t turned 100% on.

…If you want to read this as “They just have no idea what to do about ‘The Body’”, I could not dispute that.

I’m not sure how many of our followers are from Boston. My sister and I are. We’re out of town this weekend — for a family funeral — and so were far from the marathon, though usually our father would be running it, along with possibly my brother or a cousin, and we might be watching from the sidelines with oranges and water. 

We’re both heartsick about the terrible attacks on our city this morning, and are keeping all the victims in our thoughts.

I hope any followers in the Boston area are safe, and that their family and friends are as well.

You saw Labyrinth in theaters? How?

By living near the awesomest revival theatre around! I’m planning to see the True Grit - Ocean’s 13 double feature in a couple weeks, and could not be more excited.

Limerick coming soon, but, for now, a question for you all:

I see Glory as a redhead. Blonde highlights? Sure! And brownish roots, too, why not. I’ll agree to strawberry blonde, but that’s just another way of saying ginger to me. 

But my sister, like the show, seems to think Glory is blonde — and a fight has broken out in the Waffle-Meringue household since my sister (wrongly) (sooooo misguidedly) worked that fact into the draft of her current limerick.

So, what do you think, guys? Is Glory blonde?

I’m having some Photoshop issues and — well, I just got some bad news and I want to curl up in bed with a beer and a children’s book and go to sleep, so I will troubleshoot and post sometime tomorrow. 

Think happy season five thoughts until then! (…Are there happy season five thoughts? Re-watching every episode just makes me want to cry “JOYCE NO!” and then sob bitterly.)

Periru3 and I had grand plans for “Restless”, but this is not going to be the weekend for them. In addition to the fun stuff (my old college roommate being in town, belated lunar new year celebrations), we’ve been:

• Tech weeking (P)
• Unable to keep food down for three days (P, also)
• Babysitting a baby with a cold (me)
• Picking Periru3 up from a friend’s house in the middle of nowhere and ending up stuck for hours in a deserted parking lot with a flat tire and a broken phone (courtesy of dropping it in a snowbank)

So today, now that I have taken my friend to the bus station, I plan to sleep, and then sleep some more, and then go get a new tire I can actually drive on so that I can go to work in the morning.

We will continue with regularly scheduled programming ASAP, but in the meantime I hope you are having a less-headache-inducing long weekend (if you’re in the USA), or that at least your Monday doesn’t suck too much (if you’re not).

I got bored today and a Facebook page happened. This is what happens when I don’t have work for a week.

Periru3 and I live in Massachusetts, and we spent the snowed-in blizzard weekend making homemade Valentine’s, watching movies, and, in my case, making Persuasion-Arrested Development crossover macros.
